A retired three-star Air Force general has revived unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about the US military's involvement in secret missions since the presidential election. An army official said the claim was 100% false.

During the seizure of computer servers in Germany as part of the CIA operation after the presidential elections, not a single special agent was killed. Actually, there were no such missions.

And the 305th Reconnaissance Battalion is not the Kraken that President Donald Trump's lawyers announced last month. This unit is not involved in any post-election missions in support of the White House. This is an unlikely move given that this is an entry-level training battalion for recruits who have yet to gain specialized experience.
Retired Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney argued on a show hosted by Brannan House on the far-right WVW broadcast network, which aired the debate on YouTube over the weekend. The statement quickly spread on social media, with users linking the retired general's remarks to unsubstantiated allegations of fraud during November's presidential election.
Broadcast network WVW did not respond to requests for comment from McInerney and House. The network also did not respond to a question about whether it would issue a correction to claims that soldiers were killed in Germany or during missions for the CIA and the White House.
This is not the first time McInerney's comments have come under fire. The former Fox News anchor was banned from the network in 2018 after he said the late Sen. John McCain, a prisoner of war in Vietnam, was tortured. Several years ago, McInerney falsely claimed that former President Barack Obama was not a citizen of the United States and that all Muslim men should be searched at airports.

McInerney, who served as the Air Force's assistant vice chief of staff in the 1990s, told House that he had heard reports of American soldiers being killed during a CIA-led operation to recover voting servers in Frankfurt, Germany. dispute with false information. He also reported that the 305th Reconnaissance Battalion was nicknamed the Kraken. This is due to a viral hashtag that spread on social media after a Fox News interview with Sidney Powell, who served as a lawyer for retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.
Without providing evidence, Powell said in an interview with Vice President Joe Biden that there is evidence of widespread voter fraud that could overturn the election. "We're going to release the Kraken," she added, a line from the 1981 Clash of the Titans movie.
According to The New York Times , the line has since become a way to "announce conspiracies to rig elections on social media." McInerney fueled the claim by saying that the 305th Reconnaissance Battalion was nicknamed the "Kraken." Powell's mention of the unit during his speech led to renewed intrigue that the soldiers are now engaged in secret missions.
Army officials said the claims were again false. Intel's entry-level training battalions are made up of service members who have completed basic training and are still preparing for their first job.
